What are Rugelach?
Rugelach are:old world, revolutionary, creamy,flaky, down to earth, very Hester Street, very Columbus Avenue, hamish, and they're not the vegetable (spelled arugula)
Over hundred years ago waves of immigrants began making their way to America from the far flung shtetel(villages) of Eastern Europe to the narrow street of the Lower East Side of Manhattan, With them they brought their hopes,their dreams, and their rugelach recipes. They arrived together and stayed together founding a neighborhood that would serve as the springboard into the new culture. They open pickel stores and synagogues, English schools and Yiddish theater, and of course, Kosher delis and bakeries. These Rugelach, baked daily on the Lower East Side are hand rolled, using the finest all Kosher ingredients. Rolled into their many folds and lodged between the crispy flaky dough is the rich taste of tradition with chocolate, cinnamon, apricot and raspberry Parve or Dairy, sugar or sugar free.Now you no longer have to shlep to the Lower east Side, we will do the baking and shleping for you with love.
